PROPAGATION BACKGROUND:
Greenhouse:
The latest technology in greenhouses to provide the best conditions for optimal quality. Not only growing green but going green by adapting our methods to save water and leave as little as possible, negative impact on the environment. The calla flower requires part shade during hot days and full sun in cooler times, which can all be controlled efficiently in the greenhouse.
The temperature, humidity and drip irrigation is all easily controlled for the most precise application, creating minimum wastage.
Water: The calla lily soil needs to be damp at all times. Not too wet, as the plant's bulb may rot. Dark leaf tips will give indication that the plant is being over watered. After the calla lily has flowered (predominately Oct – Dec) and begins to die back, watering is stopped so the bulb can dry out and be stored until the next growing season or for packaging for clients.
Fertilization: Fertilization will occur monthly with an organic bulb fertilizer.
Fertilization will stop once the callas lily plant has bloomed. Dark tips will occur if too much fertilize is added, so no unnecessary wastage will occur.
