Nursery infrastructure

Apical suppliers is owned and managed by four talented business partners Leander Engelbrecht, Jason Ladegourdie, Juan Steyl and Juan Steyn. The nursery specializes in 3 different plants that are each propagated in a different Growing technique to optimize production. The nursery is located in Western Cape Stellenbosch for the stable climate that presents all four seasons and because of transportation reasons, further more because of the close proximity and good relationship with the University of Stellenbosch Apical suppliers are always ahead with agricultural research and development.

Apical suppliers has three greenhouses that each propagates a different plant tomatoes, pomegranates and callas lillies. All the greenhouses are made with stainless steel beams that has acrylic covering, thus making the greenhouses effectively strong and resistant to environmental effects. All the greenhouses are equipped with complex systems that regulate and control temperature, air and soil humidity as well as the air purity ( bacteria and viruses) , the system accomplishes this by means of sensors, foggers and venting systems all controlled by sensors that are situated in the air and soil. Apicall supliers believe in a truly green future thus only using natural composite that is obtained from farms in the Stellenbosch area, only powering the greenhouses with solar powered energy and using rainwater from the reservoir tanks as irrigation.

All three green houses are essentially biuld the same exept for some specialized atributes that are designed for optimal propigation of that specific plant:

Callas Lillie Greenhouse

The Callas Lillie greenhouse is adapted for the bulb propagation method and uses a drip irrigation to constantly keep the soil damp. the meal soil that is used is of top quality to ensure soil drainage. The greenhouse has electronic shading plates on the roof to ensure the right amount of shading when needed.

Tomato Greenhouse

This greenhouse is adapted for the seed propagation of tomatoes and uses micro irrigation as it is best suited for tomatoes. The tomatoes use a organic growth medium mixed with organic fertilizer to propagate in, the medium is monitored at all times through sensors. the greenhouse also contains electronic shades to optimize light intake through the day. this greenhouse also has a separate area for the plants that is closed off from the rest of the greenhouse that has more natural environmental conditions (no humidity machines, only ventilation and irrigation), the plants are brought to this area to toughen the plants before selling them.

Pomegranates greenhouse

This greenhouse specializes in propagating pomegranate trees from cuttings, thus the greenhouse is equipped with the best antibacterial technology that is implemented through the venting system. The soil used is heavy loam mixed with organic fertilization. the greenhouse uses a rooftop irrigation system consisting of sprayers that is controlled by sensors in the soil.
